Internet/Cable

My internet/cable bill was  $95.36.  I am currently getting a $5 a month discount simply because I called and asked for it!  There are a few months before that discount expires and when it does I will just have to call and ask for another discount!  :)

I could dump my cable if I had to, but the internet would be harder to give up.  How about you?

  1. Ditch the cable and get Netflix-seriously you'll wonder why you ever had cable after trying them!
We pay $50 a month for our cable high speed internet connection (we splurge for the fastest speed offered-I'm an internet junkie lol!), and then $10 a month for our Netflix subscription. Netflix has so much more to offer than cable!

  2. Our internet/cable bill is $107. I could totally give up cable but the husband can't. Kids would probably kill me too. I cannot give up my internet so I consider this expense a necessary one lol.

  3. I had to give it up because, after the discount ran out it went up to $200 a month. There was just lots of trash on it so, I am buying dvds of the stuff I like at discount prices I can own and watch when I want to. I will save a ton and can watch my favorites over plus over. Good luck. The service sucked too. I got At and T unlimited long distance plus fast great internet for cheap. You may want to switch. You can watch the tv shows on line for free too.

  4. Ditch the cable. We have an antenna hooked up to our tv so we get all the major networks plus PBS and some others. Anything I miss I watch off the Internet or i can set my computer up to record it.

  5. If push came to shove, I would take the internet over cable any day. I just asked my husband about watching sporting events and he told me he thought you could watch them on the internet. If that is the case, we would keep the internet and ditch the cable.

It will be interesting to see 10 years from now where the cable companies are if everyone cancelled cable and went to the internet.

I am home during the day and there is nothing on t.v. worth watching. I will put a d.v.d in to play while I am doing housework. In the evenings if I want to watch a show such as Survivor, I could watch it on the internet. I have a Netflix membership and absolutely love it.

  6. Oh how I'd love to give up cable! Unfortunately, I can't as it is my 87 yr old MIL's main form of entertainment...she watches MSNBC ALL DAY LONG! Me? I rarely watch TV...if I do, it's Grey's Anatomy which I can catch online the next day after the new episode airs. SO yeah, I could definitely give up cable.....the internet? NO way!

  7. I won't give up either right now, but if I had to, it would be cable that would be eliminated and internet kept. Tough to get by these days without internet, especially as a blogger:)

Nice how you got $5 off just by asking. Yet another example of how it can often pay just to ask....nothing ventured, nothing gained!
